Crafted with
Purpose,
Made to Last

My leather crafting journey began in early 2022 — born from a simple desire to find a wallet worthy of everyday carry. Unable to find one that met my standards, I built one myself.

Word spread naturally. Colleagues noticed the quality and asked for custom pieces of their own. That organic beginning is what led to West Holland Goods today.

Each piece is made to order, fully customizable, and built to become better with age. No stock. No shortcuts. Just honest craftsmanship.

The Maker's Mark

Every piece is die-cut, precision-stitched, and finished with the West Holland Goods mark — made to order, never stocked, and built to outlast its first owner.

Letters from the bench.

Occasional letters — new leather colours, open spots in the queue, pieces fresh off the bench. No noise, no schedule.

Shop All Products

Made to order in our Canadian atelier. Each piece is handcrafted to your specifications — choose your leather colour, thread, and service badge right on the order form. Current lead time: approximately 8–10 weeks. Placing an order secures your place on the list.

A small collection of functional pieces built to last a career. Every badge wallet can also be made non-badge — with card pockets in place of the cutout — so anyone can carry one.

Made-to-order pieces run about 8–10 weeks. Need something sooner? download instantly, are emailed the same day, and Priority Queue (CA$150) brings a finished piece down to about 1–2 weeks.

About West Holland Goods

Built from necessity,
perfected through craft

My leather crafting journey began in early 2022 — born from a simple desire to find a wallet worthy of everyday carry. Unable to find one that met my standards, I built one myself.

Word spread naturally. I'm on the job myself, and colleagues noticed the quality and started asking for pieces of their own — badge wallets cut to their service, made by someone who carries one on the same shifts they do. That organic beginning is what led to West Holland Goods today.

It has stayed that way on purpose. This is still one person at a bench after the shift, not a production line — which is why the wait is measured in weeks rather than days, and why every piece leaves here having been made start to finish by the same pair of hands.

I pride myself on creating the best quality items I can. Each piece is made to order and fully customizable — built to become better with age. No stock. No shortcuts. Just honest craftsmanship.

"Quality like this cannot be rushed. Every cut, every stitch, every edge is held to one standard — because your gear deserves nothing less."

Full-Grain Leather

The highest quality cut of the hide. Not corrected, not split — raw character that develops a rich patina with every use and improves with age.

Precision Stitched

Precision-stitched with heavy bonded thread on the workshop's industrial Adler — tight, even seams laid one piece at a time, built to outlast the leather around them.

Made to Order

No inventory, no shortcuts. Every piece is built when you commission it — to your specifications, your badge shape, your leather, your thread.

Every piece crafted in our Canadian workshop. Proudly serving law enforcement, first responders, and working professionals across the country.

Thread Colours

Please note: leather and thread colours can look different in person. Screen calibration, your device, and the lighting a photo was taken in all shift how a colour appears here versus in your hands. Treat these as a close guide rather than an exact match — and browse current pieces on Instagram for the most accurate look.

How to Order

01

Place Your Order

Browse and select the style and badge shape you want on the Shop page. Placing an order secures your position on the wait list. No payment is taken until your order is complete.

02

Choose Your Details

You select your leather colour, thread, and badge shape right when you order — no back-and-forth needed. Add anything special in the notes.

03

Badge Fitting

I carry badge outlines for 36 services across Ontario and Canada — from Toronto Police to RCMP, OPP, fire services, transit, and federal agencies. If your service isn't listed, I'll work with you using a full-size 8×11 digital scan — front and back — to achieve the best possible fit. Your scan is used only to shape your pattern. It is never published, never posted, and never shared with anyone. It's kept on file afterwards so a replacement or a second piece can be cut to the same fit without asking you for another scan — and deleted whenever you ask.

Handcrafted & Delivered

Your piece is precision-stitched and finished to order. Current lead times are approximately 8–10 weeks. Every piece is made one at a time, by hand.

Important: At this time, you can place an order on our site for the style you want. I do not accept payment until I have completed the order. As each order is custom-made, I do not carry stock.

Why it takes 8–10 weeks — the honest answer.

There is one of me — and like most of the people I make for, I'm on the job too. West Holland Goods isn't a factory and it isn't my full-time work: it's a bench, after the shift and on weekends, working through orders in the order they arrived. Every piece is cut, stitched, edged and finished by the same pair of hands. Nobody else touches it.

You can get a badge wallet faster elsewhere, and I'd rather say so than have you find out after you've waited. There are good shops that will ship one in a few days — they're full-time operations with staff, cutting standard patterns from stock they keep on hand. That's a genuine option and for some people it's the right one.

What the wait buys you is a piece made one at a time: your service's badge outline, the hide and thread you picked, hand-stitched rather than run through a machine. If that's not worth two months to you, no hard feelings — but that's the trade, stated plainly.

Working to a date? There are three ways to beat the wait.

Priority Queue — CA$150. Moves your order to the front of the bench, ready in about 1–2 weeks instead of the usual 8–10 weeks. Tick it in your cart before placing the order. Built for retirements, promotions, graduations and awards.

Gift cards — no wait at all. Emailed as soon as they're activated, any amount from CA$25, and they never expire. The recipient chooses their own piece, leather and thread.

Digital patterns — instant download. If you make your own, the pattern files are emailed after payment, with a licence to make and sell what you build from them.

Shipping & Returns

Shipping Policy

All orders ship via Canada Post Expedited, which delivers in 2–10 business days depending on your location, with full tracking provided.

Shipping within Canada is typically CA$15–18, added to your final invoice rather than charged upfront — so you're never paying postage on a piece that hasn't been made yet. No tax is charged on any order.

United States Orders

US orders ship via Canada Post with full tracking, same as domestic orders. Payment is by emailed invoice — no Interac e-transfer needed. Any customs duties, tariffs, or import fees charged at delivery are the buyer's responsibility and are not included in the price.

Return & Exchange Policy

We do not accept returns on custom items. With that said, we want you to be happy with your purchase. If you encounter any issue with your order, please don't hesitate to reach out — we'll work with you to make sure you're completely happy.

Badge Outlines

Every service below has a tested cutout outline on file — fitted against the real badge or a full-size template, so your wallet's cutout sits right the first time. Ordering a wallet? Just pick your service on the order form. Need the outline itself? Each one is available as a digital vector cut file (.ai + test-fit PDF) for CA$10 — and once purchased it's yours to use freely, whether you're crafting for yourself or making goods to sell. Previews below show the shape only and are not to scale.

Don’t see your agency? Send a full-size scan of your badge (front & back) and I’ll get you sorted. Your scan is used only to shape your pattern — never published, never posted, never shared. It’s kept on file so a replacement can be cut to the same fit, and deleted whenever you ask.

Leather Care Guide

Built to Last. Built to Improve.

Most leather goods you find on Amazon or in a department store use corrected-grain or bonded leather — the lowest tier. The surface is sanded down to hide imperfections, then embossed with an artificial grain. It looks fine at first, but within a year or two it cracks, peels, and falls apart. Full-grain leather is the opposite: the entire natural surface is kept intact, with all its strength and character. It costs more and takes longer to make — but it's the only leather that genuinely gets better with use.

The Patina

Full-grain leather develops a patina — a deepening of colour and sheen — as it absorbs light and the oils from your hands. No two pieces age the same way. After a year of carry, yours will look unlike anything you can buy off a shelf.

The Durability

The intact grain surface is the strongest part of the hide. A well-made full-grain wallet or holster will outlast a cheap leather product by a decade or more. Officers have come back years later with pieces that look better than when they left.

The Wait

Each piece is made to order, cut by hand, and stitched one at a time. The 8–10 week lead time isn't a delay — it's the process. You're not waiting for a warehouse to ship a box. You're waiting for something made specifically for you.

"Full-grain leather isn't meant to stay new — it's meant to become yours. A little care keeps it strong, and lets its character deepen for years."

Everyday Care

Wipe your piece with a soft, dry cloth to lift dust and oils. For everyday carry, simply use it — natural handling keeps the leather supple and builds its character. There's no need to baby it.

Conditioning

Every 3–6 months, work a small amount of quality leather conditioner or balm into the leather with a soft cloth, then buff away the excess. A little goes a long way — over-conditioning can darken the hide. Always test a hidden spot first.

Water & Moisture

A few raindrops won't hurt. If your piece gets wet, blot (don't rub) with a dry cloth and let it air-dry naturally, away from heat. Once fully dry, a light conditioning restores its feel. Avoid prolonged soaking.

Sun & Heat

Keep leather out of prolonged direct sunlight and away from radiators, vents, and hot dashboards. Heat draws out the natural oils and can cause drying or cracking. Gentle darkening from the sun, though, is natural and prized.

Scratches

Full-grain leather is forgiving. Light scratches and scuffs can often be buffed away with a fingertip or soft cloth — the warmth and natural oils help them blend into the patina. Deeper marks become part of the story.

Stains

Act quickly: blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth. Avoid baby wipes, alcohol, and harsh cleaners, which can strip the finish. For stubborn marks, a leather-specific cleaner used sparingly is safest.

Storage

Store your piece in a cool, dry place, ideally in a dust bag. Let it breathe — never seal leather in plastic, which traps moisture. For bags, loosely stuff them to help hold their shape between uses.

The Patina

This is the reward. With time, light, and handling, full-grain leather deepens into a rich, one-of-a-kind patina. No two pieces age alike — yours becomes a quiet record of how you carry it.

Keep these away from your leather: harsh chemical cleaners, baby wipes, and alcohol; prolonged soaking or submersion; direct heat and extended sun; and sealing it in plastic. When in doubt, less is more — a dry cloth and the occasional light conditioning are usually all your piece needs.

FAQ & Leather Care

Ordering & Lead Time

Browse the collection and place an order for the style you'd like. Choose your leather colour, thread, and badge shape right on the order form. Placing an order secures your spot on the wait list — no payment is taken until your piece is complete.
Current lead times are approximately 8–10 weeks. The honest reason is that there's one of me, and I'm on the job too — this isn't a factory or a full-time shop, it's one person working through orders in the order they arrived, after shifts and on weekends. Bigger operations with staff will ship you one in a few days, and that's a fair option; what the wait buys here is a piece cut to your service's badge, in the leather and thread you chose, stitched by hand rather than by machine. You can check where yours is at any time on the Track Order page, and if you're working to a fixed date, see Priority Queue below.
Yes. Priority Queue moves your order to the front of the bench — ready in about 1–2 weeks instead of the usual 8–10 weeks, for a flat CA$150. Add it as a tick-box in your cart before you place the order. It's built for retirements, promotions, graduations and awards with a date that can't move. If the occasion is sooner still, a gift card is emailed the moment it's activated and the recipient chooses their own piece.
Payment is only collected once your order is complete and ready. Placing an order simply reserves your place in line — there's no charge up front.
A gift card is the one thing here with no wait at all — it's emailed the moment it's activated, in any amount from CA$25, and it never expires. The recipient then chooses their own piece, leather and thread rather than you guessing. For a gift with a fixed date that still needs to be a finished piece, Priority Queue (CA$150) brings it down to about 1–2 weeks.

Customization & Badges

Absolutely — every piece is fully customizable. Select your leather colour, thread, and badge shape right on the order form when you place your order. See the Colours page to browse the full range.
I carry badge outlines for 36 services across Ontario and Canada — from Toronto Police to RCMP, OPP, fire services, transit, and federal agencies. It is never published, never posted, and never shared with anyone. It's kept on file afterwards so a replacement or a second piece can be cut to the same fit without asking you for another scan — and deleted whenever you ask.
Many pieces can be personalized. Add any special requests in the notes when you order, or reach out through the Contact page and we'll discuss what's possible.

Caring for Your Leather

Full-grain leather is built to last and improves with age. Keep it away from prolonged moisture and direct heat. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth to clean. Every few months, apply a small amount of quality leather conditioner to keep it supple and rich.
Yes — that's the beauty of full-grain leather. With daily handling and exposure to light, it develops a deep, personal patina over time. No two pieces age exactly alike.
If your piece gets wet, gently blot it with a dry cloth and let it air-dry naturally, away from direct heat. Once fully dry, a light conditioning will help restore it.

Shipping & Aftercare

Pieces are handmade in Canada and shipped across the country, and also to the United States. For shipping elsewhere, reach out through the Contact page and we'll sort out the details.
Yes — US orders ship via Canada Post with full tracking. Payment is by emailed invoice (no Interac needed). Any customs duties, tariffs, or import fees charged at delivery are the buyer's responsibility.
Because every piece is made to order, custom orders are final — but your satisfaction matters. If anything isn't right with your piece, get in touch and we'll always do our best to make it right.
